Get ready to go behind-the-scenes with our team for TIPS & INSPIRATION as they transform some of their own disorganized spaces… ALL MONTH LONG for GET ORGANIZED MONTH!
We’ll be sharing our methods, favorite products, and tips for all areas of the home: kitchen drawers and pantries, supply closets, bathroom cabinets, clothes closets, and more!
If you felt your eyes glaze over when you heard it’s Get Organized Month and your heart started racing and your hands started sweating… Sound familiar? Don’t worry! Our team is here to support you ALL Get Organized Month long!
As you get started, here are some helpful tips on what NOT to do:
🔸 Don’t plan to do the whole house in one month | Now, you might get started and get on a roll…and this might be your result. In which case, YAY! A better way to start is with one room…or one closet…or even one drawer. Start small and watch your efforts snowball!
🔸 Don’t do it all by yourself | If you live with others, invite them into the process. If you live by yourself, invite a friend over.
🔸 Don’t be unwilling to toss or donate | If you’re going through a drawer or closet and find an item that’s broken or stained, toss it! If you haven’t used or worn something in more than a year, go ahead and donate it. There’s a reason you’ve ignored that item — let it get a new life somewhere else.
🔸 Don’t start G.O. Month without a strategy | Pick one room to start in. And then pick one area of that room – a closet, a drawer, a shelf…start there. Take it a step further by making a list of areas you want to organize – in order of priority! That way, if life gets busy or someone gets sick, you’ve tackled the biggest problems first.
🔸 Don’t think you’ll just do this | Plan for it now and add “Get Organized” to your calendar. 20 minutes a day, 1 hour a week — whatever works for you.
🔸 Don’t NOT follow Smartly Organized this month. Seriously. Hit the follow, the likes, tag your friends and get inspired as we tackle some of the disorganized spaces in our own homes.
We’re cheering you on this month. Let’s G.O.!
